Services and Pricing
The pricing is posted, the packages are fixed, and you know the number before I show up. No quotes that drift, no add-ons that surprise.
Free 30-minute phone consultation
Every relationship starts here. Free, no obligation, scheduled online or by phone.
We cover what's prompting the call, the senior's living situation, and who the decision-makers are. By the end I recommend one of three things: an in-home visit, a one-hour fix, or a referral to someone better suited.
If after the call I don't think I'm the right person to help, I'll say so.
In-home assessment — $99
A one-hour visit to walk the home with the senior. I run a 50-point safety and technology survey covering doors, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen, internet, and existing devices. I leave with a written proposal in 48 hours.
The $99 is fully credited toward any package booked within 30 days.
The three packages
Hello, Alexa — $249
For the senior who has never used voice technology. Designed to prove it works at low cost.
What's included
- Amazon Echo Dot or Echo Show 5 (your choice)
- Two smart plugs (table lamps, fan, coffee pot)
- One motion-activated night-light
- Voice routines: hands-free calls, "good morning," lights off at bed
- One-hour patient training session at install
- One follow-up call within 30 days
The senior calls family hands-free, controls a few lights, and stops worrying about the path to the bathroom at 2 a.m.
Safe and Connected — $599 (most chosen)
For the senior who wants independence at home, with the family wanting peace of mind on the door, the smoke alarm, and the daily check-in.
What's included
- Amazon Echo Show 8 (10-inch display, video calling)
- Video doorbell with chime in the kitchen
- Smart front-door lock with keypad
- Four smart plugs and two smart switches
- Smart smoke and CO detector
- "Drop-in" video for one or two named family members
- Two hours of training across two visits
- 30 days of remote support
Senior sees who's at the door without getting up. The family member ninety miles away can drop in to say hi. The front door locks itself at 9 p.m. The smoke detector tells someone if something is wrong.
Aging in Place Complete — $1,199
The full system. For families ready to invest in keeping a parent at home and out of an assisted-living facility for as long as that works.
What's included
- Everything in Safe and Connected
- Two indoor cameras in common areas only — never bedrooms or bathrooms
- One outdoor camera with motion alerts to a designated family member
- Four occupancy sensors with hallway lighting and "no motion in 12 hours" alert
- Robot vacuum, set up and named
- Fall-detection option: Apple Watch SE, Alexa Together, or stand-alone medical alert (we set up whichever the family chooses)
- Four hours of training across 2–3 visits
- 60 days of remote support
- Family member video walkthrough showing the adult child how to manage the system from their own phone
An integrated system the senior runs by voice and the family monitors lightly.
À la carte hourly — $75/hour
One-off problems and follow-ups beyond a package's support window. One-hour minimum.
- Trip fee waived within 20 miles of Fairview
- $30 trip fee from 20 to 35 miles
- Beyond 35 miles by special arrangement
Examples:
- New phone, new printer, new TV setup
- "Alexa stopped responding"
- Resetting a forgotten password
- Walking through suspect mail or email (scams, MyChart, Medicare)
- Replacing a single failed device
Always On — $39/month
Optional monthly support after a package's included window. Cancel any time, no contract.
What's included
- Unlimited remote support by phone, video, or Alexa drop-in if the senior allows
- One in-home visit per quarter at no charge (within 20 miles of Fairview)
- Replacement parts at our cost, no labor charge
- Quarterly summary email to the designated adult child
Always On is not a 911 service. SRIT-installed devices are not medical alerts and are not 24/7 monitored. In an emergency, dial 911.
Hardware policy
I do not mark hardware up to make money on it. Two ways to handle it:
- You buy. I send the exact Amazon links; you order; I install when it arrives. No markup, warranty stays in the senior's name.
- I source. Cost plus 10% to cover handling, returns, and warranty registration. Itemized on the invoice.
Most clients pick option 1 once they understand it.
Discounts
- Veterans and first-responder families: 10% off any package
- Referral credit: $50 toward your next service for any referral that becomes a paying client
What I don't do
The boundaries protect everyone. I am direct about them on every quote.
- No medical advice, no medication management
- No locksmith work on existing locks (smart locks I install are different)
- No electrical work behind walls; no plumbing; no roof or ladder work above eight feet
- No financial setup — banking, brokerage, autopay, bill pay
- No long-term holding of house keys or passwords (deleted within 30 days of completion unless on Always On)
- No cameras or microphones in bedrooms or bathrooms — ever, no exceptions
How I compare on price
| Service | DFW market | Senior IT of Dallas-Ft Worth |
|---|---|---|
| Hourly tech support, on-site | $90–$150/hr | $75/hr |
| Smart-home starter install | $400–$700 | $249 |
| Mid-tier package | $900–$1,500 | $599 |
| Premium aging-in-place install | $2,000–$4,000 | $1,199 |
| Monthly support plan | $50–$100/mo | $39/mo |
The pricing is intentional. Many seniors are on fixed incomes. The packages above pay me fairly and stay reachable for the household making it work on Social Security plus a small pension.
